At Booyong Alpacas we love grey!
In fact 90% of our females are carrying grey genetics from some of the best known greys in the business. This means that even our browns and blacks have grey in their background.
We also have whites and fawns, with some excellent genetics including Jolimont Warrior, Purumbette Highlander, ILR Peruvian Auzengate, Peruvian Cordillo and NWA Ltd Ruffo.
We started in 1997 with 2 wethers, and by February 1998 we decided that we loved greys with our first purchase of Mountain Mist Primrose, who went on to become a ribbon winner.
In 2001 we purchased a half share of Greenvale Guido. That was the beginning of our success in breeding greys.
We sold our share in Greenvale Guido in 2006 to purchase a half share in Blue Grass Waterloo Sunrise (full brother to Waterloo Sunset) and Blue Grass Khan to give white fleece characteristics to our coloured herd - which we have done quite successfully.
Our main focus is breeding greys, but we have a full range of colours in our herd.
